The circle, drawn out
A compass rose is the oldest map of direction: the circle of the horizon divided into named rays. This tool draws the rose the classical Vastu tradition works with — the four cardinals, the four inter-cardinals, and the finer sub-directions between them — and marks the exact degree where each sector begins and ends. Where a single reading tells you one zone, the rose shows the whole neighbourhood of zones around it.
Why see the whole rose
Doors, windows, kitchens and water rarely sit in one zone alone; a house spreads across many sectors at once. Seeing the full circle makes boundary cases visible — a kitchen a few degrees from the fire corner, a door just inside an unfavourable band. The calculator pairs the geometry with passages quoted from the practice's source records, so the classical basis of each sector appears beside it rather than being paraphrased.
How to use this tool
Enter your facing degree from the Live compass. The rose orients itself to your home, highlights the sector your bearing falls in, and lists the neighbouring sectors with their spans. Use it as the map you keep open while working through the other tools.
FAQ
Q. How is this different from the 16 Zones tool? The 16 Zones page reads one degree in depth; the rose shows the whole circle at once, with quotes alongside.
Q. Do I need a printed compass? No. The rose is drawn on screen from the degree you enter.
Q. Where do the quoted lines come from? From the practice's own source records, shown verbatim with each result; the page itself names no text.
The classical basis appears with each calculation result, quoted from the practice's source records.
